You can also supply the DoorBird with power via the integrated network interface with a Power-over-Ethernet switch or injector (PoE 802.3af Mode-A).
PoE 802.3af Mode-A requires only four network wires. Doorbird has chosen this standard to make on-site installation as simple as possible. The fewer the wires, the easier the installation. Many other network products also work with only four network wires.
A small number of PoE switches and injectors do not support the PoE 802.3af Mode A standard and require more than 4 wires, even if the manufacturers mention it on their product data sheets.
Most PoE switches and injectors support PoE 802.3af Mode-A as it is an industry standard. We have successfully tested for example:
- Linksys LGS116P-EU
- D-Link DGS-1008P
- TP-Link TL-PoE150S
- Ubiquiti POE-50-60W
- Trendnet TPE-115GI
